1st Summer Camp of Next-Gen Philanthropy Leadership Program: A Great Success!

The 1st Summer Camp of the Next Generation Philanthropy Leadership Scholarship Program was a great success!

The first 2024 Summer Camp of the Next Generation Philanthropy Leadership Scholarship Program, which was hosted by the Singapore Good Soil Foundation founded by Ms.Faye Lo, an alumna of the 28th class of the Chinese EMBA at NUS, and co-organized by the National University of Singapore Business School, was a resounding success from June 17th to 21st 2024. Designed for high school students aged 15 to 17 who are of good character and academic excellence, the camp attracted 57 outstanding students from 25 prestigious schools around the world.

We were honored to have Mr. Richard Buttrey, a professor from the University of Cambridge, Mr Viswa Sadasivan, a former Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore, and Jerry, Social Impact Manager at Tiktok, to teach the camp, which covered topics such as philanthropic leadership, public speaking, and youth mental health. In addition to this, the students were able to visit OUE, a famous local Singaporean corporation, and have a conversation with its Chairman, Dr. Stephen Riady, while other classes were arranged to learn about the operations of philanthropic foundations such as Tzu Chi and Enabling Village in the sector. In the classroom, there were lively discussions and the students were very attentive and gained a lot from the program. The camp was not only a feast of learning, but also a historic first step in nurturing future philanthropists and social entrepreneurs for our philanthropic program, Next Generation Philanthropy Leadership Scholarship Program.
